Why water damage moves fast in Oregon

Most of the year, the question here isn't whether water gets in. It's how fast it gets dried.

What happens after you send a request

  1. You tell us what happened

Water, fire, smoke, a burst pipe or a sewage backup, plus your ZIP code. It takes about a minute.

  2. We call you back and line up a crew

A real person confirms the details and matches you with a licensed restoration contractor who works your area. You can check their Oregon CCB license yourself before anyone starts.

  3. The crew stops the damage and documents it

Water extraction, drying, board-up or smoke cleanup, plus the photos, moisture readings and itemized estimate your adjuster will ask for.

  4. You approve the work and the claim moves

Nothing starts until you approve the contractor and the scope. You stay in charge of your claim, and Oregon gives you the right to choose your own contractor.

The standards we hold every job to

Licensed, bonded and insured crews only
We only line up contractors with an active Oregon Construction Contractors Board license, and Oregon requires every licensed contractor to carry a bond (ORS 701.068) and liability insurance (ORS 701.073). Ask for their CCB number and look it up on the CCB website before you sign.
Prices before pressure
Our cost guide shows typical Portland and national ranges, with sources, so you know what's normal before anyone quotes you.
Your claim, your choice
Oregon's homeowners bill of rights says you can use any contractor (Oregon DFR). We explain your rights in plain English in our Oregon claim guide.
Paperwork your adjuster can use
Dated photos, daily moisture readings and an itemized estimate. Good records make the adjuster's job easier and your claim harder to dispute.

What restoration costs, before anyone quotes you

Almost no restoration company publishes prices. Here's what third-party cost guides report, so you know what's normal.

Your rights on an Oregon claim

Do I have to use my insurance company's contractor?

No. Oregon's homeowners bill of rights says you have the right to use any contractor (Oregon DFR).

How long does my insurer have to respond?

Oregon rules require insurers to acknowledge a claim within 30 days (OAR 836-080-0225), finish investigating within 45 days unless that isn't reasonably possible (OAR 836-080-0230), and accept or deny within 30 days of receiving your proof of loss (OAR 836-080-0235).

Questions people ask us

Can I send a request at night or on a weekend?
Yes. The form takes requests any time, day or night. A real person reads every request and calls you back to line up a crew.
How fast can a crew get here?
It depends on where you are and how many emergencies are open that day. We'll give you a real arrival window on the phone instead of a promise on a website.
Will my homeowners insurance cover water damage?
Sudden water from plumbing or a roof leak is typically covered. Flooding from rising water, groundwater or runoff usually isn't covered by a homeowners policy; that takes flood insurance (NAIC, FEMA FloodSmart). Sewer and drain backup is often covered only with an add-on endorsement (Oregon DFR). Our Oregon claim guide has the details.
Should I wait for the adjuster before cleaning up?
No. Oregon's Division of Financial Regulation tells homeowners to protect the property from further damage and save receipts, but not to make permanent repairs until the insurer inspects (Oregon DFR). Drying out wet materials is protection, not a permanent repair.
Does it cost anything to request help?
No. Requesting help is free, and you approve the contractor and the scope before any work starts.
Which areas do you cover?
The Portland metro (Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties), Salem and Keizer, and the Willamette Valley in between. See service areas. Outside those areas, send a request with your ZIP code and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
